Learn to Fly Fish

Feeling fly-curious? Our beginner, family, and kid-friendly program is designed to introduce you to the sport of fly fishing starting with the basics:

  • What equipment do I need?
  • How do I cast a fly rod?
  • What knots do I need to know before I start fishing?
  • What waders and boots should I use?
  • What are flies and which ones should I pick?

This class runs for 4 hours split in two segments.  In the first segment, you will learn how to cast and become familiar with the rod and reel that we use in fly fishing. In the second, you will take to a local pond or stream to learn how to read the water, select flies, practice your cast, and catch your first fish on a fly rod!

Beginner Fly Fishing Lessons

Learn to select flies, tie knots, read the water, cast a fly rod, and catch your first fish

Unlike many learn to fly fish programs, we believe that immersion, and letting you field test your new skills, is the fastest way to get a handle on the sport. The perfect cast takes a lifetime of practice, but the good news is that you can catch plenty of fish with a basic understanding of how your rod, line, and fly function together.

$600 // walk and wade only, up to 4 anglers

Price includes:
