Dry - CDC Quill Caddis

A refined dry fly pattern designed to realistically match the Maine tan caddis hatches. Built on a lightweight crushed barb hook, the body is wrapped with a stripped and dyed peacock quill, offering segmentation and color variations that mimic a submerged abdomen. A thick CDC wing over a layer of shaped foam adds buoyancy and lifelike movement, while a dubbed collar completes the tapered silhouette. This pattern excels in clear water and pressured streams where silhouette and detail matters.

Smaller sizes of the pattern substitute poly yarn for the CDC, which allows for a better base for floatant.
